1693 is a rich blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from Napa Valley. In the glass, this deeply colored wine offers dusty aromas of cedar and loam over a core of blackberry and dark plum. The palate has a weighty entry that carries through to a balanced finish.

At the table, this wine will pair well with roasted meats and rich stews. The quality of the fruit combined with the characteristics of the 2009 vintage promise great drinking both now and over the long term.

1693 is a collaboration between the William and Mary Alumni Association and Cultivate Wines. With a hint of Tribe Pride in every bottle, this Napa Valley blend of 78 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and 22 percent Merlot will have you seeing green and gold. For every bottle sold, 25 percent of the sticker price is donated to the W&M Alumni Association to support student programming and other initiatives.

Cultivate was founded by Ali and Charles Banks with a mission to create a fuller life for all by giving a minimum of 10% of revenue to non-profits supporting education and basic human needs. In its first year, Cultivate has given away over $430,000 to more than 45 different organizations. Though Cultivate is a new company, its team includes industry veterans responsible for over twenty 95+ point rated wines.
